I’m Happy To Be 50 —Hamzat

Lagos State governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, has expressed happiness and given thanks to Almighty Allah for giving him the opportunity to reach the golden age hale and hearty.

Hamzat who clocks 50 years Friday, spoke on Thursday, on Lagos Island during the continuation of his meet-the-people tour of local governments in the state, adding that Lagos needs somone with experience and knowledge of governance to ensure continuity of the people-oriented policies of the present administration.

The tour is a sensitization and awareness programme geared towards making the people and members of his party in particular, major reasons for his aspiration

“I give thanks to God Almighty that I have lived to be 50. If you look at where you are coming from and where you are, you will give thanks to God. There were lots of people who we started together and are not alive today. God has given us the opportunity to be where we are today and be identified with. So I give thanks to God,” he said.

Speaking on his governorship ambition, he said, “We need to always ensure we put round pegs in round holes. This will bring the desired hope of excellence in governance,” he said.

According to Hamzat, “no matter how much knowledge he has, a carpenter can never do the work of a plumber. Lagos needs a man with experience and knowledge of governance”.

Dr. Femi Hamzat was born on 19 September, 1964 in Lagos.

Born into a civil service family; his father, Olatunji Hamzat originally a banker, served as a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, as well as Commissioner for Transportation in the early 80s.

He is married to Oluremi and they both have children.
