Guber aspirant hails Jonathan’s transformation agenda

A governorship aspirant in Abia, Uche Ogah, on Saturday lauded President Goodluck Jonathan’s transformation agenda, saying it had launched the country back to the path of economic growth and development.
Ogah, a chieftain of the PDP, spoke in an interview with NAN in Umuahia. “The president’s transformation agenda is excellent; this is what Nigeria needs,” he said.
He said that apart from the transformation in the nation’s infrastructure, the president had succeeded in transforming the people’s mind toward national development.
Ogah admonished religious leaders as well as non-governmental organisations to take the message of transformation to all parts of the country.
“That is what the clergy and all the religious organisations should be preaching for transformation to take place in all facets of our national life,” he said.
He also commended Governor Theodore Orji’s developmental stride in the state, saying that he had achieved a lot “even when he started with nothing”.

Ogah, who hails from Abia North Senatorial District, opposed moves to zone the governorship slot to Abia South Senatorial District.
He said that the decision was at variance with the position of the national leadership of the party which, according to him, had rejected zoning of political offices at all levels.
“Once the president and National Chairman of the party, Dr Adamu Mu’azu, have spoken, saying that zoning is no longer tenable at all levels, their position supercedes that of the state,” he said.
Ogah also expressed concern over the deplorable state of roads in Aba, saying that an enabling government policy would help to transform the city.
He said that creating the enabling environment would attract the private sector to drive the commercial and industrial potentials of the city.
