The last batch of pilgrims from Ogun state early Monday arrived the city of Medina, Saudi Arabia to join their counterparts to complete the stipulated rites expected for the 2014 hajj exercises.

The pilgrims, numbering 33 touched down at the Medina International airport via Med-view airline aircraft around 5:45 a.m. Monday morning.

They were led by a member of the State Muslim pilgrims’ welfare board, Alhaji Abidoye Amosun and its Executive Secretary, Alhaji Sefiu Rasheed.

Speaking with our correspondent on phone this morning after they arrived the holy land, the spokesman of the Board, Alhaji Qudus Kafidipe disclosed that the arrival signalled the final airlifting of all the 1,212 pilgrims from the state to Saudi Arabia for the holy pilgrimage.

Also speaking with PM News, Alhaji Abidoye Amosun, a member of the Board described the just concluded airlifting of pilgrims as hitch free, noting that, “despite initial challenges, all pilgrims were in stable conditions and they are all in high spirit to commence all hajj rites in earnest. I want to enjoined all pilgrims to ensure that they adhere strictly to all the tenets guidelines towards achieving an acceptable hajj”, Amosun stated.

He added that the fear of Almighty Allah must always be their watch word while their stay last in the holy land.
