Use your wealth for humanity, Umeh tells rich Nigerians

Chief Victor Umeh, the National Chairman, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has called on wealthy Nigerians and politicians to use their wealth in the service of humanity.
Umeh made the call in an interview with NAN on Sunday shortly after he was conferred with Paul Harris Fellow Award of Rotary International Club in Awka.
Umeh said that using God-given resources at one’s disposal to alleviate the suffering of the down-trodden was the best way to make a meaningful impact on life.
He said it was a great joy to associate with the club with the goal of promoting the society and putting smiles on the faces of people.
“I feel very happy to be honoured by Rotary Club Awka Metropolis as a `Light Up Ambassador’, because it encourages me to do more in terms of helping the poor.
“There is no other way to be useful in the society than to render service to humanity.
“I enjoin others to help brilliant children whose parents cannot fund their education, families who find it difficult to eat quality food and people who cannot afford basic amenities,” he said.
He said that prayers should be offered for the continuity and stability of the country.
Umeh lauded the efforts of the new president of the club and promised to take the club’s humanitarian activities to the next level.
