Golden Eaglets striker, Ebere Christian Osinachi has expressed confidence that he and his teammates will crush Gabon when both sides meet tomorrow in the return final leg of the Africa Junior Championship (AJC) qualifying series scheduled for Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Cross Rivers State.

When both countries met two weeks ago in Gabon, the hosts defeated Nigeria 2-1 to make the return leg tough for the world champions.

A victory for Nigeria in tomorrow’s cracker will earn them a place in the next year’s Africa Junior Championship scheduled for Niger Republic.

Speaking ahead of the game, Osinachi said early today that the Eaglets are in high spirits as they are ready to make the country proud in the match. Picked from ASJ Academy in Owerri, Osy who supports the red half of Manchester and a big fan of former Manchester United’s striker, Cristiano Ronaldo said he was confident of the chances of the Golden Eaglets.

“We know the challenges before us and we are ready to make the country proud. As a striker, I want to score and if I don’t score, I believe my teammates will score goals that will qualify us for next year’s Africa Junior Championship,” he added.

So I am calling soccer loving Nigerians to come out in their numbers and cheer us to victory,” he said.

Head Coach of Eaglets, Emmanuel Amuneke is confident that Eaglets will triumph over Gabon in tomorrow’s tie.

He said his team cannot afford to lose to their opponents knowing full well that a draw or defeat will stop the Eaglets from taking part in next year’s Africa Junior Championship.

“Our expectation is high so I have absolute confidence that my team will deliver. It is going to be a tough match and my team are equal to the task,” he said.
