Glo Xchange Town Hall Meeting Enters 4th Week

The Glo Xchange mobile money training sessions being held across the country for prospective agents has entered the fourth week, as the train moves to Kaduna, Umuahia, Akure, Ilorin and Oshogbo.
The training sessions are to afford prospective agents the opportunity of getting all the necessary information and orientation that will prepare them for the mobile money business.
Nigeria’s national telecom carrier, Globacom, recently launched the Glo Xchange Super Agent network in partnership with four mobile money operators, namely, First Monie, Ecobank, Stanbic IBTC and Zenith Bank as part of its contributions to improving financial inclusion in the country.
Head of Mobile Money, Globacom, Mr. Esaie Diei confirmed that the event will take place simultaneously at the designated venues.
The meeting, he said, is open to the general public especially existing and intending agents.
The town hall meetings will create an opportunity for interaction between Globacom and the agents and give basic orientation and information to those who desire to do the mobile money business.
The meeting will also offer Globacom and its partners the opportunity of addressing any issues raised by prospective agents.
Two weeks ago, at least 1,200 agents were successfully trained at the town hall meetings which were held at different centres including Warri, Kano, Enugu, Onitsha and Abeokuta.
At least 300 agents participated at each centre with representatives of Globacom and its partners present.
The excited participants lauded Globacom for the initiative, saying that the mobile money business will further enhance the nation’s cashless policy and provide job opportunities for thousands of unemployed graduates.
At least 500,000 agents are expected to be recruited in the next five to six years.
Financial experts and pundits have described the Glo Xchange as a convenient platform that will enable Nigerians to send or receive money, pay for airtime, goods and services, including utility such as electricity, water bills and TV subscription in different parts of the country using their mobile phones.
With as little as N20, 000, Glo Xchange agents can start up their businesses after training and earn as much as twice their investment within a short period.
