Former Super Eagles’ coach, Samson Siasia has pleaded with delegates to the Elective Congress of Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to allow peace to reign and vote for people that will take the game to the next level in Warri, Delta State tomorrow.

The NFF has concluded all arrangements for the election, which will see a new board of the football house and a new President that will take over from Alhaji Aminu Maigari.

Siasia said that the crisis rocking the NFF has left a lot of damages in its wake and called for peaceful elections when the delegates gather for the Elective Congress in Warri on Tuesday.

“I think it is high time everybody came together to solve the problem on our hands. The elections should be peaceful so that from there will move, because this crisis will leave us nowhere,” said the former Nigerian international.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow’s election in Warri, former scribe of the NFF, Fanny Amun said there is no way government’s interest can’t be ruled out in the NFF’s polls, adding that the NFF is one of several sports federations under the supervision of the National Sports Commission, NSC, hence the need for the Commission to exercise its oversight function on what is going in the NFF.

“Why won’t the NSC have interest in NFF elections and what is happening in the football house?” Amun asked. “Don’t forget that NFF is under the supervision of the Commission and the NFF is one of the federations which the government spends the public funds on, so I think what is happening at the NFF should be of interest to the Commission,” he said.
