Amaechi condoles the family of Oluremi Oyo

Rivers state governor, Rotimi Amaechi has offered condolence to the family of late Oluremi Oyo, former spokesperson to erstwhile President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, David Iyofor, Amaechi said he was shocked by the news of Oyo’s demise.

He said Oyo’s passing was a huge loss to the nation and the media sphere.

“She has been of great service to the nation, delivering and ensuring quality reportage throughout her time as director of the News Agency of Nigeria NAN; and as president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors she gave her best. Remi Oyo was a true professional,” Amaechi said.

He sympathized with the family, friends and associates of late Oyo, and urged them to find strength in the fact that she lived a successful life.

“She will be greatly missed and remembered for her professionalism and capacity in service to the nation and the media industry.”

Amaechi prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss, and that her soul rest in the bosom of the Almighty.
