APC restrained from conducting primaries in Kano

A Federal High Court in Kano on Thursday restrained the leadership of All Progressives Congress (APC) from parading itself as the executive body of the party in Kano state pending the determination of a motion on notice.
The court, presided over by Justice Fatin Riman, had also restrained the leadership of the party in the state from conducting the forthcoming primaries scheduled for October.
NAN reveals that the decision of the court followed an ex-parte motion by counsel to the plaintiff, Mr U.U Eteng, on behalf of a
member of the party, one Alhaji Muhiyi Magaji, who alleged that the process which produced the party leadership violated the Electoral Act.
Magaji also alleged that the process had violated Nigeria’s constitution and that of the party.
He prayed the court to declare the leadership of the party in the state as null and void.
The presiding judge therefore adjourned the case to 17 October for the hearing of the case.
