Senate President, David Mark has disclosed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo is a father of the nation and he needs to be consulted all the time for issues that relates to the progress and development of the country.

Mark stated this today when speaking to newsmen after his closed door meeting with the former President at his hilltop resident in Abeokuta.

The Senate President was accompanied by the Delta state governor, Dr.Emmanuel Uduaghan, Senator Nwite Polycarp and others to see the former Chairman, Board of Trustees, BoT of the PDP.

Responding on why he came to see the former President, the number three citizens said, “You know that Baba, President Obasanjo is the father of the nation, so we have come to discuss with him and raise some basic issues that affect both the party and the nation at large.

“They are discussion that would move this nation forward, you know his passion for this nation is unquantifiable. We really had a good discussion with him,” Mark stated.

When asked if the visit is in connection with the crisis rocking the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ogun, the Senate President said,” We are working as a party to make sure that we put everybody who wants to be on board on board and congresses are coming up, so I think this is normal,” he revealed.

Reacting to whether the former President should be expected at the party congress, Mark answer, “he is the father of the party”, he responded.
