Last Friday 3 October, Cecil Hammond, CEO, Flytime Entertainment, delivered what many have regarded as the most exhilarating show of the year, “Bovi Man on Fire”.

The show, held at the Expo Hall of Eko Hotels & Suites, had American rap superstar Ja Rule and his protege, Ashanti, performing to the excitement of teeming fans.

P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe learnt that it was Ashanti and Ja Rule’s first performance together in seven years. And they both lit up the stage and displayed some breathtaking performances.

Comedian and host Basketmouth joined Bovi, who delivered non-stop comedy skits that lasted over an hour.

“It was more of a comedy show than a music concert. Many people didn’t expect Bovi to do what he did that night. I knew what I wanted and I had him groom himself for a nonstop comedy show. We are all used to having several comedians and music stars gracing the stage in one night but for me it was becoming boring. I am building new concepts and glad people like it,” Hammond said.

Reviewing the success of the concert, Hammond said he put in his best for the concert and looks forward to doing something bigger than this soon. He however said he couldn’t have done it alone without his team at Flytime Entertainment and Bovi’s commitment.

“We put a lot of effort in the lighting, set design, sound and event coordination. All these really worked for us. It is not about the money spent but the end result,” added Hammond.

Already, he has lined up three other concerts for December: his annual “Rhythm Unplugged 2014”, MI’s album launch concert and the Mavin All-Star concert.

“December is going to be a very busy month for us at Flytime. It has been like that over the years and we don’t intend to stop because our annual concerts have become a culture to music lovers,” he said.

The young showbiz entrepreneur started music promotions over 10 years ago. He has hosted some of the biggest shows in Nigeria that have helped the careers of artistes like Tiwa Savage, Davido and Sheyi Shay.
