Samson Saisia, former Super Eagles coach says he is optimistic that the Super Eagles can win their Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying match against Sudan this weekend.

Saisia told NAN on Thursday in Abuja that with enough motivation and team work, the Eagles would win the match.

“I believe the players and officials know what is at stake. I am also happy that the Nigeria Football Association (NFA) has settled down after the election, so efforts will be geared toward winning the match,” he said.

The former Super Eagles coach noted that the squad had the potential to win and urged the team to work extra hard to get the three points at stake.

“I believe that there is nothing impossible as far as the Super Eagles are concerned because most times, we come in from a difficult terrain and then see ourselves through.

“We want to believe that such will also be our portion this time. But, all of us really have to work together.

“The NFA, the technical crew and the players really have to work together to achieve this feat,” the coach said.

NAN reports that Sudan will host Nigeria in Omdurman on Saturday in continuation of the qualifying series for the 2015 AFCON.

The return leg of the fixture will take place in Nigeria on 15 October.
