Borno state pilgrims has emerged the best behaved Nigerian state in terms of pilgrims behaviour and sanitary condition during this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia, according to an official.

Alhaji Adamu Timta, the Chairman of the state Amirul Hajj Committee, disclosed this in an interview with NAN in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

“The Saudi Arabian Government last Thursday recognised Borno state pilgrims as the best in Best Behaved in Human and Sanitary Condition during the 2014 Hajj.

“The award was received by Alhaji Zannah Mustapha, the Deputy Governor, who doubles as the state Amirul Hajj,” Timta said.

He said that the success was achieved through hard work and determination of the committee which was supported by Governor Kashim Shettima.

“Credit must be given to Alhaji Nasiru Surundi, the General Manager of the Borno Environmental Protection Agency (BOSEPA), a member of the committee, who worked tirelessly to ensure clean and healthy environment in our pilgrims camp here in Saudi Arabia.

“We must also give special commendation to Shettima, who gave us all the support we needed for the successful Hajj operation,” Timta said.
