Police warn Edo politicians against violence

The Edo Police Command on Sunday warned politicians against sponsoring and masterminding violence in the state.
The warning was contained in a statement issued in Benin by the command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Mr Noble Uwoh.
The statement said the command would not tolerate the activities of hoodlums and miscreants.
The command warned politicians sponsoring and masterminding the activities of thugs in the state to desist from it.
It said the police would not fold its arms and allow a breakdown of law and order.
The statement further warned that anybody caught in any act of violence would be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land.
NAN reports that thugs on Saturday invaded the Edo House of Assembly quarters and destroyed cars and property worth millions of naira.
