Nigeria’s female national team, Super Falcons, have been called upon to go for outright victory against Zambia when both sides clash in the crucial second Group A match of the on-going African Women’s Championship, AWC, in Namibia on Tuesday.

The Falcons, who defeated Cote d’Ivoire 4-2 in the first match on Saturday, are currently placed first in the group ahead of hosts, Namibia, who defeated Zambia by 2-0 and will advance to the seim finals of the competition if they secure victory over Zambia.

“It is important for Falcons to go for victory in this encounter to help the team qualify for the semi finals ahead of their last group match against hosts Namibia,” Globacom, a major sponsor of Nigerian national teams, said in a statement in Lagos on Monday.

According to Globacom, the Falcons should approach the next match with total determination to win. They cannot afford to take their legs off the pedal at this moment, especially as the Group A remains competitive.
