The value of shares traded on the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday declined by N130 billion, falling from N13.354 trillion recorded on Friday to N13.224 trillion.

The 0.97 per cent decrease in the value of the stocks on the day’s transaction was represented by 40,051.29 points, up from 40,444.39 attained on Friday.

NAN reports that Seplat led the losers’ chart with a loss of N3.97, closing at N607.53 per share.

Nestle lost N28 per share to close the day’s trading at N1022 per share, while Forte Oil fell by N5.5 to close at N215 per share.

Guinness depreciated by N2.8 to close at N182, while Dangote Cement declined by N1.9 to close at N215.11 per share.

Conversely, International Breweries topped the gainers’ table with 97k to close at N31.47 per share.

Stanbic IBTC followed with a gain of 35k to close at N32.38, while Ikeja Hotel gained 26k to close at N2.92 per share.

UACNs’ share price appreciated by 24k to close at N57.75, while Honeyflour gained 12k to close at N3.95 per share.

NAN reports that 191.703 million shares worth N2.80 billion were traded in 4,483 deals compared with 242.968 million shares valued at N2.68 billion traded in 5,169 deals on Friday.

Access Bank emerged the most traded stock with 23.09 million shares worth N200.83 million in 180 deals.

It was followed by GTBank with 17.87 million shares valued at N532.90 million in 332 deals, while Transcorp traded 16.49 million shares worth N91.58 million in 219 deals million.
