Best Varsity Status Excites OAU Students

Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, are excited with the latest ranking of the  Nigerian universities which puts the institution ahead of others in the country.

The ranking which was obtained from the 2014 webometrics World University Ranking results, was released on Monday.

Some students who spoke with our correspondent, stated their luck at being students of such a prestigious institution.

They noted that the “Great Ife” status which the school has been addressed with is by no means a fluke, as the ranking keeps justifying their number one position.

“What more do people want to hear from students of Great Ife? If we had come out to state this fact, people would have condemned us, especially our friends from other institutions.

“OAU remains the best in this part of the world and I am proud to be a student of the institution,” added a Mass Communication student who simply identified himself as Michael.

Another student of the institution, in a conversation with P.M.NEWS Campus Square via twitter, noted that the school’s rating is evident with the calibre of leaders it had produced in the past.

“Great Ife!!! The taste of the pudding is in the eating. Products of OAU are leaders all over the place,” he wrote via @mykene200.
