The Federal Roads Safely Corps (FRSC) in Ota, Ogun, has decried the activities of “Area Boys” in the area

Mr Sunday Omafu, the Unit commander of FRSC, told NAN in Sango-Ota on Thursday that the Hoodlums were obstructing the free flow of traffic in Sango and its environs.

According to Omafu, the miscreants are preventing the personnel of the corps from enforcing traffic laws in the area.

“Anytime the FRSC is directing drivers, especially the commercial bus drivers, the area boys believe that the FRSC officials are preventing them from collecting their money,” he said.

He said the unit would embark on aggressive public enlightenment to involve officials of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state, in order to address the challenge.

“We shall continue to enlighten them both at the garage and at the bus stops on the need for free flow of traffic,” he said.

The unit commander said the measure became necessary as the area boys were hiding under the operation of the NURTW to obstruct traffic.
