The United State Government has awarded grants to 15 civil society organisations in Nigeria to boost efforts in promoting democratic reforms in the country, a statement said on Friday.
Ambassador James F. Entwistle will preside over the official award ceremony on Monday 10 November, the United States Embassy in Nigeria said in a statement.
The grant falls under the US Agency for International Development’s (USAID) “Strengthening Advocacy and Civic Engagement” project.
The Mission said USAID will implement the five-year programme in collaboration with the Chevron Foundation’s Partnership for the Niger Delta.
