Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso of Kano State on Saturday collected his Permanent Voter Card (PVC) at the Kwankwaso Malamai Primary School in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State.

Kwankwaso told journalists after collecting his card that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) should correct the lapses recorded during the ongoing distribution of PVC in the state.

He said the state government learnt that in local governments like Dawakin Tofa that had 10 wards, only two wards had their cards ready for collection.

The governor added that there were reported cases of hitches in Gezawa and Nassarawa Local Governments, as there was lack of cards in some of the polling units.

He noted that the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in the state had assured the state government that the Commission would correct all lapses recorded during the exercise, including the extension of the PVC distribution up until Wednesday.

He thanked the Kano Emirate Council and religious leaders in the state for sensitising the people, which led to the large turnout of electorate to collect their PVC.
