A suspected thief, Asimiyu Ibrahim, 34, a resident of Elemoro area of Ibeju Lekki, Lagos who allegedly entered into the premises of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries MFM’ at Elemoro parish to steal has been arraigned before a Lagos magistrates’ court for stealing,

The accused was charged before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court on a two-count charge of felony to wit, stealing

The police prosecutor, Coporal Koti Aondohemba told the court that the accused committed the offence on 15 October, 2014 at Ibeju Lekki, Lagos.

He said the accused entered the church  premises at about 5am to steal the church’s Elepaq generator and X Star Television set, all valued at N110,000,

He said during interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the crime.

Aondohemba said the offences the accused committed are punishable under sections 309 and 285 of the criminal laws of Lagos state, 2011.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charges and Chief Magistrate S. K. Matepo admitted the accused on bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum who must be a blood relation.

Matepo adjourned the matterfor mention,while the defendant was moved to Ikoyi Prison pending when he will fulfil the bail conditions.
