Security agencies declare war on criminals in Rivers

To forestall criminal activities in Rivers during the yuletide season and 2015 election, a joint operation of the all the security agencies in Rivers State has vowed to rid the state of crime and criminal activities.

Mr Dan Bature, the State Commissioner of Police, declared that there would not be any hiding place for criminals in the state when he addressed security operatives, comprising the Police, Navy, Army, Air Force and Department of the State Security Service (SSS), at the Police Headquarters, Moscow Road, Port Harcourt.

Bature, who hailed the cooperation among the security agencies, stated that it would be hellish for hoodlums to operate in the state.

The security exercise which was tagged “Show of Force,” is a continuation of joint operations by the security agencies in the state.

“Like I said before, we have intelligence report about persons, who may want to cause undesirable problem that we do not deserve but we are on ground. If they test us, we will give it back to them.

“The state has been peaceful because we have been working together in joint operations, police and the military. The operation is ongoing”.

The exercise took the well armed security agencies round the major streets in Port Harcourt.
