In a bid to give Nigerians a most memorable start to the year 2015, Nigeria’s King of Comedy, Ali Baba, is set to organise a unique comedy show laced with music on 1 January.
The show tagged ‘Ali Baba’s January 1 Concert’ is scheduled to hold at Convention Centre of Eko Hotels & Suites. It is aimed at giving fun lovers a wow moment and it will feature 24 popular comedians as well as some sensational music acts in the country.
“I have attended several shows in the country and what I have noticed, most of the times, is that they follow the same pattern. Different acts come on stage at intervals and do their individual business. But I believe Nigerians deserve much more,” Ali Baba told P.M.NEWS Entertainment Cafe.
He said he wants to give Nigerians something out of the ordinary.
“Nigerians need to be entertained with jokes woven around issues that everyone is familiar with. The issues will range from politics to sports and to major events that made headlines in the previous year,” he added.
With an imposing 3D 2015 sign on the stage, the show, to be produced by Bunmi Davies, will have 12 top comedians who will each review, in the most comical way, events of the past year from January to December. The other 12 will then review different people and personalities who made the year memorable.
Six unique persons, who are pacesetters in some endeavours in the country would be honoured with special recognition awards during the concert.
