Ron Maxwell Solomon has emerged the winner of the 2014 edition of the Next Movie Star. Solomon, a Ghanaian, beat 15 other contestants after spending 30 days in the NMS house located in Akute, Ogun State, western, Nigeria.                                                                                                                              

Solomon was announced the winner at the in-house party held at the NMS house on 14 December by Bukky Odunote, star actress and one of the judges.

He will be the second Ghanaian to win the NMS. Solomon was trailed by Onyeka Emechebe, who was the first runner up; Kenneth Nwadike, second runner up and Okezie Sheila, who became the third runner up for the 2014 edition of the movie reality show.

The young Ghanaian, who will take over from Feyisekemi Akinwale, who was the last winner of the show, will receive a brand new car, three-year movie contract, and a cash prize of N200,000 among other prizes. 

On its 10th edition, this year’s This year’s edition of the NMS was tagged ‘Live Your Dream’. It featured housemates who were carefully and professionally auditioned, trained and groomed at Ikogosi Warm Spring Resort in Ekiti State.

John Njama, one of Nigeria’s most outstanding directors, tutored the housemates on drama performances and other activities in the house.

Also, the housemates had interactions with various prominent figures in the entertainment industry, including Chico Ejiro, renowned movie producer/ director; IK Ogbonna, model/actor; Adunni Ade, actress/model; Olanrewaju Olufisayo, presenter/broadcaster and poet.

The also interacted with past winners and prominent alumni of NMS such as Halimat Aitsegame (2012 winner), Kingsley Ogboso, Zerziyia Wilson, Belinda Effah and a host of others.

Sola Fajobi, executive producer of the movie reality show, expressed satisfaction with the quality of the housemates and the entire show this year.

He thanked sponsors and other media partners for their contributions toward the success of the 2014 edition of the show.
