Adunni Bankole dies, on her daughter’s wedding day

The Oluwo area of Adigbe community in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital, the hometown of the former Speaker of Nigeria’s Federal House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole was thrown into mourning Saturday as his step mother, Iyalode Adunni Bankole passed away.
The death of the high society woman,who was in her 50s, coincided with the wedding of her daughter, Mopelola, also in Abeokuta.
Adunni breathed her last today after being in coma for five days at an undisclosed hospital.
A family source,who pleaded anonymity told our correspondent today that the deceased has been battling with heart related disease for sometimes before she finally gave up the ghost early today.
According to the source,”Iyalode died today and her death was so sad and pathetic as today is the wedding ceremony of Mopelola,one of her children. She has been ill for days and has been battling with heart problems for sometimes now and I can also confirm to you that she had two operations, but God knows best. May her soul rest in perfect peace,”the source said.
At the Bankoles residence in Abeokuta, sympathizers were seen trooping in and out of the compound to commiserate with the family.
She was survived by her husband, Chief Alani Bankole,a.k.a. Caterpillar, children,brothers and sisters among others.
