The All Progressives Congress, APC, Chairman in Lagos State, western Nigeria, Otunba Henry Ajomale has boasted that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP,  would be defeated come 28 February governorship election.

Speaking with P.M.NEWS as supporters the party on Wednesday besieged  the Old Parade Ground, Ikeja, Lagos, venue where the party flagged off its 2015 mega campaign rally, Ajomale said: “We are not afraid of their threat. In 2003 we defeated them as well as in 2007 and 2011. The people of Lagos are wiser and have always put their value in the party they trust.

“We have a covenant with the people. We made promises and we fulfilled them and that is why they have always trusted us,” Ajomale said.

Diehard supporters displayed various posters of different candidates of the party vying for different elective positions in the forthcoming general elections.

Posters on display were those of the Lagos State governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, Senator Oluremi Tinubu seeking re-election for the Lagos Central Senatorial District seat; Oshodi-Isolo House of Reps candidate, Hakeem Abiodun Munir;  Bisi Yusuff,  Alimosho Constituency 01; James Abiodun Faleke, Ikeja Federal Constituency; Wole Diya, Somolu Federal Constituency; Senator Gbenga Ashafa, Lagos East Senatorial District, etc.

Apart from  Ajotmale who had arrived for the rally at press time, others present were  Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire; wife of Lagos State Governor, Dame Emmanuella Abimbola Fashola; Sarah Sosan, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, Alhaji Lanre Rasak, Cardinal James Odunmbaku, Femi Gbajabiamila, Alhaji Tajudeen Olusi, Dr Yomi Finnih, Chief Mrs Kemi Nelson, Fouad Oki and Jumoke Okoya-Thomas.

Others were the party’s State Executive Exco, immediate past council chairmen, Executive Secretaries, among others.

The national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babatunde  Raji Fashola, Akinwunmi Ambode, and other party leaders were being expected at the rally as at the time of filing this report.

King of Fuji music, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal was on hand to entertain the teeming  party supporters.
