UNN Graduates 15,94 Students

Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba

A total of 15,904 students will receive various degree certificates during the 44th convocation ceremony of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, 23 January, 2015.

The Vice-Chancellor of the university, Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba, who stated this at the pro-convocation press briefing, held at the Enugu Campus of the institution, said that a total of 14,015 students are for first degrees.

A further breakdown shows that 331 had Ph.D; Masters Degree, 1,168; Postgraduate Diploma, 177 and Diploma, 213 graduates.

Prof. Ozumba said that its founders had called for an institution that would raise a working class of Nigerians with a patriotic and productive mindset to drive the economic and political advancement of the country and the black world.

He disclosed that he made a personal resolve to promote, reward and institutionalise excellence that is why the 44th convocation is unique as it revolves around excellence.
