A former minister of information, Prince Tony Momoh, has advised supporters of the All Progressive Congress (APC) to explore ways of gaining more popularity ahead of the February general elections.

Momoh gave the advice in Abuja on Friday at the launch of “Wind of Change, 72 Leadership Qualities of Buhari: The Good Samaritan” written by Mr Blessing Agbomhere.

NAN reports that the book launch was also organised to raise more funds for APC’s presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari’s campaign.

According to Momoh, the only way to gain power was by a merger of political parties, which has been done by the coming together of parties to form the APC.

“Secondly, get your permanent voter cards and come out en masse to vote for change,” he said.

He recalled that as a writer, he had written in past that Buhari told his supporters to vote for only Muslims, but said “when I found out that Buhari actually said ‘don’t vote for those that don’t know God’, I felt remorseful.”

Also speaking, a member of APC, Mrs Rabi Iliya, said “the labours of our heroes past will not go in vain with APC in power.

“With Gen. Muhammadu Buhari as president in February, the promises of democracy will be made so real.”

She assured womenfolk that Buhari would provide the needs of Nigerian women because he is “incorruptible and courageous”.

Another APC member, Mr Timi Dagogo, said “the election is not about Buhari but a mass movement both home and abroad, for change.

“Buhari cried in 2011 during campaigns because he felt the pain of the poor man and people were laughing but today, the masses are crying.”
