PDP Reps. candidate donate transformers to communities

Residents of Odelemo and Emuren in Sagamu local government area of Ogun State could not hide their joy and feelings as 500KVA transformers were donated to both communities.

The donation was made by the Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP, House of Representatives candidate for Remo Federal Constituency, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu on Monday during his campaign tour to Emuren and Ode Lemo ward 9 of Sagamu local government area. The communities have been without electricity for two years.

Addressing the mammoth crowd during the presentation, the son of Sir (Dr.) Kessington Adebutu, popularly called “Baba Ijebu” described politics as a calling which he has invested in since 1991 without any motive of financial profit.

According to him, “In emulating my grandfather, Late (Pa) Kareem Folarin Adebutu and my father, Sir (Dr) Kesington Adebutu on their various philanthropic acts, I have also executed several people-oriented programmes and projects amongst which are construction of roads and drainages; building of classrooms, provision of bursaries, and scholarships to students, free health programme, provision of brand new transformers amongst others.

“Having done all these, I believe much more can still be done from the angle of government. That is the reason I have come before you to submit myself as your child and seek your support, as I promise not to disappoint you like the previous representatives have done.

“I want to urge you all here today not to waste your votes as you should cast your to vote for all the PDP candidates ranging from the President, Senate, House of Representatives, Governorship and House of Assembly in the coming elections holding on 14th and 28th February 2015 respectively,”Adebutu solicited.

In his response, the Elemuren of Emuren, Oba Abdulwaheed Adetayo Adeloye described the House of Representatives candidate for Sagamu Constituency, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu as a son coming back home, considering the bond between Emuren and Idena – Iperu, quarters of Adebutu’s in Iperu Remo.

The monarch commended him for his effort at rescuing the people from the total blackout that has pervaded the town for almost two years, while wishing him success in the coming elections.

Speaking in the same vein, the Lisa of Ode Lemo who spoke on behalf of the chiefs applauded Hon. Adebutu for his gesture which also include 1million naira donation towards the construction of a new palace for the Lemo of Ode Lemo and pledged the support of his people.

Earlier in the day, Ladi Adebutu Democratic Organisation had commissioned viewing centers equipped with plasma televisions, DSTV systems and generators at both towns.

Meanwhile, in a statement signed by the Director, Media and Publicity of the organisation, Sesan Akinsanya on Friday, a free health programme powered by Ladi Adebutu will be conducted tomorrow at the palace of the Akarigbo of Remoland in Sagamu by 10:00 a.m.

According to the statement, “surgeries will be performed on patients with cases such as hernia, fibroid, appendicitis, while treatments will also be administered on people with other minor ailments.”
