Ogun PDP Empowers Youths

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ward2Ward Initiative, Ogun state chapter, has embarked on a project aimed at alleviating poverty among youths of the state.

Tagged “Jonathan Ogun State Youth Empowerment Program”, the initiative is expected to assist at least 3,000 youths.

Thousands of Ogun state youths will participate in the empowerment programmme, which will hold on Monday, 9 February at the Abeokuta Sports Club, Ibara-Abeokuta, Ogun State.

The beneficiaries will receive vocational training and lectures from appointed professionals before given financial and material support to start their own businesses.

The training exercise would cover: photography, soap making, food/bread & cake making, laundry business, beads & hat making, agriculture; fishery, poultry & animal husbandry. Others include barbing & beauty therapy, vulcanising & block making.

Bashorun Babatunde, the Ogun State Coordinator of PDP Ward2Ward Initiative, said beneficiaries of the program will be picked in all wards and local governments, adding that, they are expected to be within ages 18 to 50.

Former Super Eagles captain, Joseph Yobo, is the Brand Ambassador of the PDP Ward2Ward Initiative.
