Former Nigerian international, Jonathan Akpoborie has told out of contract Coach Stephen Keshi to pick the coaching job of Burkina Faso’s senior national team and leave Nigerian alone.
As the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is set to formerly present Keshi with a fresh offer on Wednesday, Akpoborie said that with what had happened in the past few months, Keshi should not consider the deal.
The former Wolfsburg of Germany striker noted that Keshi should rather look in the direction of Burkina Faso who are interested in his services.
“As an outsider, the way I’m looking at it, I think it’s best for him to leave Nigeria because from the body language of the players in the last two games played, the atmosphere with the NFF, I think Nigeria should be the last option for him.
“Keshi has a lot of options and I think that he can achieve whatever he wants to achieve with Burkina Faso, but with Nigeria, we want more. I don’t think Keshi is our messiah, Nigeria bigger than Burkina Faso,” he said.
