President Goodluck Jonathan often criticised by the opposition for not acting swiftly to arrest the Boko Haram insurgency, since it broke out 6 years ago, moved swiftly Thursday to check on Nigerian troops in recovered towns of Mubi and Baga.

He even stepped out in military fatigue, with a walking stick to boot. Here are shots from the visit.
