Lagos Island Youth Stabbed To Death Over Money

A Lagos Island youth identified as Kunle Ifaniyi has been stabbed to death with a broken bottle by his colleagues during a fight over money.

The incident, according to eyewitnesses, happened on Ajele Street, Lagos Island on Wenesday afternoon.

Though details of the incident were still sketchy as at the time of filing this report, witnesses gave different versions of the incident.

A female trader in the area informed our reporter under anonymity that the youths engaged in a fight shortly after a Lagos socialite gave them money at Upper Campos Square, adding that the next thing she saw was that they dragged Ifaniyi to Ajele Street, beside  PHCN office, and stabbed him in the neck and he died instantly for allegedly refusing to share the money with them.

“I thank the police at Lion Building Division for their quick response to put the situation under control,” she stated.

Another trader who identified himself as Jude said: “I saw the youths drag the deceased from Upper Campos to Ajele Street, accusing him of snatching their colleague’s girlfriend and suddenly one of them stabbed the victim in the neck with a broken bottle and he died on the spot.”

When P.M.NEWS reporter visited the Lion Building Police Division this morning to see the DPO for comments, she was said to have gone out of her office.

However, a  police source told our reporter that some suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
