Scouts Chase Flying Eagles In Senegal

Several Flying Eagles stars led by striker Taiwo Awoniyi are being chased by scouts from top European clubs on the back of their superb showing at the AYC in Senegal.

“Flying Eagles players are now hot cake among the many scouts and clubs in Senegal,” a top source informed AfricanFootball.com

Taiwo Awoniyi is the most wanted Flying Eagles star and it is understandable as he is the leading scorer in the tournament with three goals and has scooped two CAF Man of the Match awards thus far.

He has a growing number of suitors from top clubs in Portugal and France.

However, the snag is that he has signed a pre-contract with modest Swedish side Kalmar.

His representatives are expected in Senegal in the new week with the hope of firming up a contract for the 17-year-old player from Imperial Academy in Nigeria.

Ifeanyi Matthew is another Nigeria U-20 star who has caught the eye of top European clubs

The El Kanemi Warriors attacking midfielder has scored twice and provided three assists as the Flying Eagles romped into the semifinals of the AYC in style.

Clubs in France, Italy, Norway and Belgium have also cast their dragnet on Akinjide Idowu, skipper Musa Muhammed and left-back Mustapha Abdullahi.
