Rivers State Governor and Director-General of Buhari/Osibanjo Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has described the victory of the presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress, General Muhammadu Buhari as the handwork of God to effect change in the leadership of the country.

Amaechi stated this when he arrived Port Harcourt International Airport, Omagwa, where he was warmly welcomed by state APC chieftains and party stalwarts.

Amaechi thanked Nigerians and APC party faithfuls for their collective efforts in voting General Buhari and assured that Buhari will run a transparent and accountable government that will move the nation to greater heights.

“I attribute the victory of APC to the handwork of God. And, it is to effect change in the leadership of this country. I want to thank Nigerians and APC faithfuls for the various roles they played to lead the party to victory. Be assured that Buhari’s administration will run an accountable and transparent government and will take this nation to the next level,” Amaechi said.

Amaechi enjoined Nigerians and APC party faithfuls to join him in congratulating the winner of the 2015 presidential election, General Muhamadu Buhari and his running mate, Professor Osibanjo on their victory at the polls.

In the same vein, some APC party chieftains and party faithfuls have been sending congratulatory messages to Buhari, Osibanjo and Governor Amaechi on the victory of APC at the polls.

Top of the list is the senator representing Rivers South East Senatorial District, Magnus Abe, who thanked the Almighty God for making it possible for Nigerians to know the truth in the face of wickedness, political high handedness and impunity by the military and the police against APC supporters in the state.

“We don’t have anything to say than to tell Governor Amaechi thank you for making it possible for us to identify with the All Progressives Congress, that won the presidential elections. The victory for Buhari has made us proud, Rivers people will now be free from wickedness, political high handedness and impunity,” Abe said.

Also speaking the APC state party chairman, Hon. Davies Ikanya said, “The victory of Buhari is to the glory of God and it means Nigerians are beginning to have a say in governance. I congratulate General Buhari and the Director General, Governor Amaechi for putting the vision of the party into reality”.

Ikanya also urged Rivers people to embrace change. “This time around, we have seen that Rivers people and Nigerians are yearning for change and Buhari’s victory is victory for Africa. It is also a good example for other African leaders to emulate.

Nigerians are happy because they were given freedom to exercise their legitimacy for a credible government. This is a step forward to move the country to achieve desired results,” Ikanya said.

Similarly, former Caretaker Committee Chairman of Obio/Akpor local government area, Dr. Lawrence Chukwu said the victory of Buhari should be regarded as the collective will of Nigerians for change in the nation’s democracy.
