Ogun state government has debunked the rumour making rounds that it is planning to ban the motorcycle riders in many parts of the state.

The state government dismissed the rumour, saying it is the handiwork or the opposition to score a cheap political point.

The Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Barr. Taiwo Adeoluwa cleared the air during a news conference, noting that, allegations leveled against the government by the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP governorship candidate, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka were not true.

Adeoluwa reiterated that the present administration is ensuring that everyone residing in the state has a sense of belonging, adding that, there are no plans to inflict pains on anyone.

“That is a big lie. It was never even thought of, as we don’t have plan to inflicts pains on anybody. All these are part of the lies peddled around by the opposition, basically, the PDP.

“You and I know that these okada riders are human beings like us and they are doing their legitimate work, while then should we ban them. What is the reason for planning to ban them, this is not true. It is a propaganda to gain the heart of the people in the coming election”.

He added that “Governor Ibikunle Amosun is the friend of the people, particularly the motorists, how can he say such a thing. We never planned to ban okada or okada riders in Ogun state,” Adeoluwa posited.

He called on the okada riders not to panick as there are no plans to ban their activities. “I want to urge the riders to go on with their legitimate work. No one will disturb them. What we can just do is to regulate them to reduce accidents on the road. But to ban them, such will not happen,” Adeoluwa declared.

The SSG however called on the people of the State to continue with their support for Amosun led administration in the state, promising that, the best of the government is yet to be seen.

Adeoluwa urges the people not to be deceived by the political propaganda of the PDP.
