Adamu Back In Football Politics
There are strong indications that Dr. Amos Adamu is gradually having his way back to the politics of world football.
Adamu, who served a three-year ban slammed on him by FIFA following a UK Sunday Times report which alleged that the Nigerian football administrator agreed to receive £500,000 in order to influence the voting procedure with his vote for the 2018 FIFA World Cup bid, is currently in Cairo, Egypt for the 37th General Assembly on invitation by the Confederation of African Football, CAF.
P.M.NEWS Sports gathered that Adamu’s relevance was concretised by his invitation as special guest to the assembly which is ongoing at the Aida Ballroom of the Marriott Hotel, Zamalek in Cairo. He was also given the privileged to attend all the important meetings at the assembly.

Speaking on Brila FM early today, the former CAF/FIFA chieftain lamented Nigeria’s absence in the Executive Committee of both FIFA and CAF, adding that this happened because Nigerian football administrators failed to plan or play the politics of the game in recent times very well and this made them not to secure seats in Africa or world football ruling bodies.
The former Director General of National Sports Commission, NSC, noted that for Nigeria to reclaim her place in CAF and FIFA there must be very good long term plan of action.
“People just wake up over night and say they want to be in CAF, it doesn’t work like that. Even in national politics you must do your ground work, if you are not known then you realize there is work to do.
“Back in my time, the situation was as dicey but because I was already positioned to win, I emerged.”
