Amaechi reassures Rivers voters on security

Ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in the state, Rivers State Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Amaechi has again called on all eligible voters to come out in their numbers to exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation.

In a statement signed by the governor’s Spokesman, David Iyofor said, the call is necessitated by the outcome of a meeting the Governor had with the security chiefs earlier today in Government House.

The statement further said, adequate security measures had already been put in place in all nooks and crannies of the state for a hitch-free polls.

“Let me once again reassure our people of Rivers State of the safety of lives and property during Saturday’s gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections. We have put in place adequate security network to guarantee free and fair polls.

“You are therefore, advised to go out tomorrow and participate in the voting exercise. The security chiefs have assured to protect all of us. Come out and vote and remember to be peaceful and shun election violence and any form of election malpractices,” the statement said.
