Residents of Ikorodu Division in Lagos State have commended the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for ensuring the proper working of the card readers following the smooth accreditation of voters at various centres across the division.

During the presidential election about two weeks ago, the people of Ikorodu had blasted the commission over hitches associated with the use of the card readers as many of the electorate had to undergo manual accreditation.

The anomalies surrounding the earlier use of the card readers ranged from absence of passwords to absence of network or power failure.

And the people of Ikorodu have affirmed the working conditions of the card readers for accreditation which commenced at about 8:00am today.

“The card readers are now working really well in my area,” Jimi Benson, who had initially complained about the failure of the card reader in his Ibeshe Polling Unit 001.

Another electorate in the division, who pleaded anonymity, told P.M.NEWS correspondent that, “it has been working really well here. It is perfect here and I want to commend INEC for a job well done by correcting the anomalies of the presidential election.”
