Voters on Saturday in Kano, commended INEC for the improvement recorded in the use of the card reader, for the accreditation of voters for the governorship/state house of assembly elections in Kano State.

Some of the voters who spoke to NAN at Gidan Dan Hausa Polling Units in Tarauni and Kawaji wards of Nasarawa Local Government Area expressed happiness over the development.

One of the voters, Malam Garba Musa, expressed satisfaction with the machines saying that the accreditation was moving on smoothly unlike during the presidential election.

“The accreditation is moving fast unlike during the last election when many people wasted a lot of time before being accredited”, he said.

Another voter, Abdullahi Sani commended the commission for ensuring that the machines worked very well.

NAN reports that at Kawaji Ward, the card readers were functioning well without any hitch as the machines were successfully verifying thumb prints of voters.

NAN also reports that only one of the card reader deployed to the eight polling units at Kawaji Ward had problem.

Also at Gidan Dan Hausa, of the six polling units, only one card reader was not functioning well.

NAN further reports that INEC ad-hoc staff reported at their respective polling centres as early as 7:00 a.m.
