Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos state has congratulated the governor-elect and his successor Akinwunmi Ambode and has also commended his main contender Jimi Agbaje.
“Lagos wins. Congrats Ambode, well done Jimi. Eko o ni baje,” the two-time governor of Lagos state wrote on his Twitter handle.
It would be recalled that Returning Officer, Lagos State Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof. Isaac Adewole who is the Vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan declared Ambode winner after he polled 811,994 to Agbaje’s 659,788 votes.
The duo scored 25 per cent of vote cast in all the 20 Local Government, the simple majority system was employed to determine the winner, with Ambode winning a very close contest.
