Preparations have been concluded for the conduct of referendum for the creation of Local Council Development Areas in Ogun state.

It would be recalled that Governor Ibikunle Amosun, during his campaign tour to all 236 wards in the state early this year while seeking for the second term bid, he promised to create the council areas, so as to further bring governance more closer to the people.

Amosun maintained that since his administration has promised to embark more on rural development during his second term in office, it is necessary for the Local Council Areas to be in place to complement the state government.

When he met with party leaders in the state yesterday at the party secretariat in Abeokuta, the governor affirmed that the creation of the LCDA’s remains one of its first priority after victory at the polls.

The governor revealed that the processes would have commenced this week but for the party meeting he had to attend outside the State.
