Nigeria’s Michael Moses has vowed to repay the faith his sponsor, coach and friends have in him by clinching the semifinal ticket at the ongoing Tombim Abuja ITF Futures in Nigeria’s Federal Capital.

Moses yesterday, created another upset during the event taking place at the package B of the National Stadium, Abuja, when he stunned number eight seed, Alcaraz Cortes in their second round match, defeating the Spaniard 6-7 (5), 7-5, 6-2.

Being the only Nigerian remaining in the tournament, the 2014 Abridged Governor’s Cup Winner, whose 9-week tour of Egypt has been instrumental to his growing confidence, believes that nothing is impossible.

“I just have to play my game and see where that takes me. When I am on the court, I follow my coach’s instruction and I try to focus only on what I am in the competition for; to win.

“With the other Nigerian players already out, I can only say that I will try my best to keep the flag flying and secure a Semifinal ticket, which was my target from the onset.

“I suffered a slight injury to my left wrist but I still played and won with it although I doubt if my opponent knew that it troubled me a bit during the match. I believe in my abilities, but I trust God more to give me total victory later today,” he told P.M. NEWS Sport correspondent this morning in Abuja.
