The battle between former Lagos Island council chairman, Wasiu Eshilokun-Sanni, and a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hakeem Masha, over who should represent Lagos Island Constituency 1 at the House got messier on Tuesday with the police getting involved.

Eshilokun-Sanni is believed to have taken Masha to the police alleging that Masha forged some documents.

Both Eshilokun-Sanni and Masha are members of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

While the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Lagos recognises Eshilokun-Sanni as the winner of the 2015 election, the commission’s headquarters still recognises Masha as the candidate of the party.
