A Bauchi–based Pressure Group, Advocate for Justice and Good Governance on Saturday declared its support for the candidature of Mr Yakubu Dogara as Speaker of the House of Representative.
This was contained in a statement signed by the group’s Chairman, Malam Yakubu Chiroma, and made available to NAN in Bauchi.
NAN reports that Dogara (APC), member representing Dass-Tafawa Balewa-Bogoro Federal Constituency of Bauchi state, has been elected to represent his constituency for the third time.
According to the group, Dogara who does not have any ‘godfather’, possess all the attributes of a good leader that will champion the cause of the House, with equity and justice.
“Dogara has distinguished himself as a credible, honest and patriotic legislator, who has served his constituency and country in different capacities as a member of the House since 2007.
“He is a de-tribalized legislator and his quality, credibility and performance, make him stand out among other contestants.
“We therefore call on all APC members, as well as the 142 members of the House, elected under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and indeed all Nigerians, to support the aspiration of Dogara for the exalted position in the House of Representatives,” the group pleaded.
