Muhammadu Buhari has been sworn in as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria after he took his oath of office at the Eagle Square in Abuja on May 29.
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo has also become the vice president after taking the oath of office.
Thereafter, Buhari’s predecessor, Goodluck Jonathan handed over some symbols of authority to the old president to handover to the new president.
Buhari, with Osinbajo was elected in the 28 March election. It was the first time, in Nigeria’s history, that the candidate of the opposition party would defeat the incumbent.
