Police arrest wanted fraudster, 12 others in Abuja

The police in the FCT have arrested a suspected fraudster and member of car theft syndicate on its wanted list, ASP Anjuguri Manzah, police spokesman in the territory, has said.

NAN reports that the suspect was among 12 other suspects presented to newsmen at the command on Wednesday.

Manzah said operatives of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) arrested the fraudster on May 28 at Gwagwa, adding that one Honda car with registration number YAB227AA was recovered from him.

He said the command recovered seven guns, one other stolen car, 18 Samsung cell phones, eight television sets among other items from the suspects.

The FCT police said that the arrest and recovery were made in the last three days of May.

The other 12 suspects were arrested in connection with armed robbery, cattle rustling, burglary, and shop breaking among others.

Manzah quoted the Commissioner of Police in territory, Mr Wilson Inalegwu, as commending the public for assisting the command with useful information that had helped in effecting the arrest and recovery.
