Ras Kimono Suspends Albums Production

Reggae music legend, Ras Kimono has announced that he is embarking on an indefinite suspension of production of full albums into the Nigeria music market.

The music star said he lost interest in recording an album because DJs and music presenters only picked one or two tracks from his last album. But he said he would be releasing singles while a track is ready now.

“I am working on my single now but I am no longer interested in recording a full album anymore. The last album I did, DJs would pick one or two tracks, keep playing then throw the next one away. So I’m not doing anymore albums but singles. Before the year runs out, I might come out with a single or two,” Kimono said.

In another development, Kimono disagreed with those who have erroneously placed  reggae music and marijuana in same class. According to him, smoking has nothing to do with reggae music.

“Show me one hip hop artistes who doesn’t smoke or drink and I would show you five reggae artistes who neither smoke nor drink,” he stated.

Kimono remains one of the most popular reggae music acts that have ever graced the Nigerian music scene. He dominated the airwaves with his rich repertoire which include What’s Gwan and Run F’ Cover that dominated the music arena for years.
