A socio-cultural group, under the aegis of Sagabama/Ekeremor Development Foundation, have thrown their weight behind the re-election bid of Governor Henry Seriake Dickson. The group said Dickson have made them proud by transforming the eight local government areas of the state in terms of infrastructural and manpower development, exhibiting transparent, accountable leadership and uncommon stewardship.

The group, in an open letter to Governor Dickson and signed by its President, Charles Dorgu, stated that, they are proud of the achievements of the countryman governor, who clearly has left no one in doubt, that he has all it takes to lead Bayelsa State and indeed, the Ijaw nation to the promised land.

“It is an understatement to say our dear state suffered terribly from bad leadership and huge infrastructural setback since its creation over 18 years ago, until Governor Dickson was sent by God to salvage the people of the state from bad governance, especially from leaders whose stock in trade was supporting criminal elements and cultists to unleash violence and brigandage on the streets of Yenagoa and across the state.”

The group restated its undying pledge and unshaken stand to drum support for its son, Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson, as a credible, God-fearing, fit and proper candidate to continue in the seat of Governor of Bayelsa State for a second term February 14 2016.

The group disclosed that, it is set to embark on a reach out campaign to mobilize the support of all sons and daughters of Sagbama and Ekeremoh, particularly those, who feel aggrieved as a result of unmet expectations in the last state and national assembly elections.

According to members of the group, all sons and daughters of Sagbama-Ekeremor, particularly the political class who felt aggrieved for losing out in the last elections, to retrace their steps back to the party in the interest of peace.

The group it is important that we all come together as one people to let the governor know that the train has left the station and there is no going back and they want him to know that he will re-turn for a second term in office without hindrances, considering his achievement, antecedents and developmental goals.

“We therefore submit that all electorates, voters and stakeholders in Sagbama and Ekeremor should endeavour to co-operate with members of the reconciliation and contact committee made up of respected leaders and elders like Chief Thompson Okorotie, Chief Francis Doukpola, Fyneman Wilson and others, as they go round to reconcile those aggrieved people to forge a common front against the opposition party in view of the task ahead.

Dorgu, disclosed that the group under his leadership is saddled with the responsibility of mobilizing massive support for his re-election bid through strategic engagements and cooperation with similar groups across the state, whose sole objective is hinged on creating a favourable political environment for the re-emergence of the countryman governor.
