Governor Nasiru el-Rufai of Kaduna State has appointed four Special Assistants on Monday.
This was contained in a statement issued by MrSamuel Aruwan, the Special Assistant, Media and Publicity to the governor, made available to NAN in Kaduna.
It said the appointees included Mr Auwalu Maikyau as Special Assistant, Youth Matters; Mr Peter Ayim, Vocational Training and Skills Acquisition; Malam Hafiz Bayero, Job Creation, and Alhaji Abduljalal Falalu, Strategy.
According to the statement, the few appointments were made to ensure that those appointed had definite job descriptions.
The appointments, it explained, is to discontinue the wasteful practice of previous administrations by employing many special assistants that do not have
specific job descriptions.
“As part of his commitment to run a slimmer and more responsive government, cut costs and drive efficiency, Malam Nasir el-Rufai has disclosed that his and deputy and him would appoint only 12 Special Assistants with specific mandates, assignments and targets to achieve,” the statement read in part.
